About the event

UNIFE–UPMC Surgical Training Course in Corneal Transplantation

An intensive surgical training course in corneal transplantation, hosted in Italy (Forlì–Venice) in collaboration with the Venice Eye Bank, the largest eye bank in Europe.

The course is hosted by Prof. Massimo Busin (University of Ferrara) and Prof. Vishal Jhanji (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), with faculty from both universities providing expert-led lectures, live surgeries and hands-on surgical wet lab training.


Who Is This Course For?

This course is designed for young ophthalmologists, cornea fellows, and early-career surgeons who are preparing to perform lamellar keratoplasty independently or wish to enhance their confidence and consistency in the operating room.

  • Course Fee

    The course fee is all-inclusive and covers: • Attendance to all lectures and live surgery sessions • Hands-on wet lab training in DALK, DMEK, DSAEK using human donor corneas • Course materials, including lecture handouts • Three nights of hotel accommodation at Best Western Hotel Globus City, including daily breakfast • Daily catering, including lunch, coffee breaks, and dinner during the course • Transfer from Forlì to Venice • An official Attendance Certificate upon completion of the course
